Frequently Asked Questions

Where does FCCW Meet?

We meet on the third Thursday from 7:00-8:45 p.m. at Maranatha Church, 7550 Collins Road, Jacksonville, FL 32244. This is west of I-295 between Rampart Road and Westport Road

Do I have to be a Christian to join FCCW?

You do not have to be a Christian to join FCCW.  All writers are welcome.  We open and close each meeting with prayer for member writing goals because we believe in the power of prayer.  We promote a variety of regional events for writers and we support our fellow writing groups in NE Florida.

How much does it cost to join?

We currently do no charge for membership. However, we do make a donation to the church periodically.

Are FCCW members targeting the Christian market?

Some members are targeting the Christian market and some aren't.  Members bring manuscripts in all genres: fiction, non-fiction, business, sci-fi, romance, articles, blog entries, you name it.  If you want to improve your writing, bring whatever you're writing.

FCCW officers reserve the right to rule out inappropriate manuscripts should the occasion ever arise.

May I bring a manuscript for critique?

Members are encouraged to bring a manuscript for critique every meeting.  Manuscripts must not exceed 1,000 words, must be double-spaced, include continuous line numbering and the writer's name.

May I bring my child with me?

FCCW is for adults 18 years and older.  No childcare is provided.  Adults only please.  We encourage you to check your local library if you're interested in literary events for your children.
